The Culture of Citizenship. A Reflection on Civic Integration in EuropeAuthor(s): Per Mouritsen Publisher(s): CIDOB Foundation, Barcelona, Spain Publication: Citizenship Policies in the Age of Diversity Date of publication: Jul 2009 From Page 23 to 35 Description: This chapter discusses what the author has termed 'the new civic integrationist turn' in European immigration and naturalization policies. According to him, the anatomy of this turn is evident throughout northwestern Europe in the proliferation of civic integration programs and courses, citizenship tests, contracts and ceremonies, civics education and broader national discourses on the problems of multiculturalism and the normative terms of immigrant inclusion, including the terms of citizenship acquisition. The paper focuses on such programs in Denmark in particular. General note: © 2009 CIDOB FoundationDownload:
