Description: The leading event of the first quarter of the year was undoubtedly the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo, followed by the adoption of a new constitution for the newborn Balkan state. The second quarter of the year was an highly expected period since it was the initial testing time for the independence and the occasion to asses the first steps of the new government and the reaction of both Serbs minority in Kosovo and of Belgrade.
