Description: In the last few years social network analysis made its way into political science and international relations and security studies. Social network theory differs from traditional sociological studies, which assume that it is the attributes of individual actors that have the most effect on social interaction. Social network theory attributes less power to individuals than to the relationships and ties with other actors within the network.
