Description: The process of European unification has fundamentally reshaped Europe’s security system. Besides pacifying the continent, the EU has more recently intensified cooperation in the area of internal security as well. Furthermore, the European Security and Defense Policy has also made noteworthy progress. Security cooperation has become one of the most dynamic EU policy fields in recent years, although numerous challenges remain.
